klooboo is a place to play short games and make your own. This page says exactly what we keep about you, who else sees it, and how to get rid of it. It is written to be read, not to be skimmed past.

klooboo is for people aged 13 and over

Please do not use klooboo if you are under 13. We do not ask for your age and we do not knowingly keep anything about a child under 13. If you are a parent and you think your child has made an account, write to us and we will delete it.

You can play without telling us anything

You do not need an account to play. When you first arrive, your browser makes up a random id and keeps it on your device. That id is how your scores and the things you make find their way back to you. It is not your name, and it tells us nothing about who you are.

If you sign in

Signing in with Google or Apple is optional. It exists so your credits, characters and progress follow you to another phone or browser instead of being stuck on one device.

When you sign in we keep the id that Google or Apple gives us for you, and the display name and picture you have already chosen in klooboo. We do not store your email address. Your provider may hand one over during sign-in; we throw it away.

What we keep while you play

What we measure

We record four things: a game being opened, a game being closed and for how long, a character being picked, and a run being finished with its score. These go to two analytics services, PostHog and Google Analytics, labelled with your klooboo account id. We do not sell anything to anyone, and there is no advertising on klooboo.

Who else gets your data

Your network address

We look at it briefly to stop one machine hammering the servers. It is held in memory, never written to our database, and never written to a log.

How long we keep things

If you never sign in, your guest record is deleted automatically 90 days after your last visit. If you do sign in, we keep your account until you delete it.

Deleting your account

Open the account sheet in klooboo and choose to delete. It is permanent and it is not a deactivation: your account, scores, progress, characters, the things you generated and your credit history are all removed.

Two things stay on purpose. A world you published stays playable, because other people may be in the middle of it, and a character of yours that we featured for everyone stays in the picker. The artwork behind them stays too, otherwise those worlds would break. If you want something you published taken down as well, write to us and we will remove it.

Changes

If we start keeping something new, this page changes in the same release, and the date at the top moves.
